Photo gallery of Russia's S-70 Okhotnik heavy UAV

These are by far the best photos I have seen of Russia's S-70 Okhotnik heavy UAV. The author is Sergey Alexandrov.

This UAV made its first flight in October 2019. The final version will have a 2D nozzle, and will operate in mixed regiments with Su-57s. The cost of one unit together with a command post is approximately 20 million $. Deliveries are expected in 2024.

Saudi Arabia has acquired 300 Chinese UAVs Wing Loong II. The information was provided by the  Chinese news agency Xinhua at the end of February. This is the largest contract ever signed for a Chinese UAV. No details have been provided on deliveries or cost. In the last few years China has invested heavily in UAVs, showing many new designs at the last Zuhai Air Show (link).

The Wing-Loong II, which bears a striking simularity to the MQ-9 Reaper has a payload of 400 kg, and endurance of 32 hours and a top speed of 370 km/h. The ceiling is 9000 meters.

ISIS drone attack near Mosul

ISIS has published a propaganda video showing another attack on an Iraqui armoured formation. The bomb dropped by the UAV hits a Humvee, causing a detonation.

At the moment there are no statistics about the effectiveness of this type of attack. The Iraqui Army has captured a huge number of these drones. On the other hand, countermeasures are needed.
