Ukrainian T-64BVs to take part in the Strong Europe Tank Challenge

Ukraine is going to take part in the Strong Europe Tank Challenge. Three T-64BVs have been sent. According to Ukroboronprom the vehicles have been upgraded with thermal sights for the gunner, commander and driver. The work was carried out by Kharkov Armoured Repair Factory, Trimen Ukraine and UA.RPA. This would allow detection and identification of enemy vehicles at more than 1.5kms. A Lybid K-2RB digital radio has also been installed. The other contestants are

- Germany: Leopard 2A6
- Austria: Leopard 2A4
- France: Leclerc (crews from 501 Regiment des Chars de Combat).
- USA: M1A2 Abrams
- Poland:  Leopard 2A5
