RSK MiG could reduce it's staff by 1,000

RSK MiG could reduce it's staff by 1,000. According to sources consulted by RNS the reason is the lack of contracts after Egyptian MiG-29s are delivered. Last summer 200 workers were made redundant. At the end of this year 500 employees from administration and the Mikoyan Engineering Centre in Moscow will follow. The other 500 will leave in 2018. RSK MiG employs 14,000 people, of whom 40% are below 35.

The company has stated that the reduction is due to the reshuffling of workers from Moscow to Niznhy Novgorod. Sokol Factory will organise production of Il-114 and final assembly of MiG-35.
